A: TRC is privately owned by an exceptionally qualified real estate group that has been developing successfully in the Binghamton area for 25+ years (including University Plaza and thousands of other student beds). TRC will be professionally managed by one of the nation’s premier firms specializing in student housing.

Q: What if there’s a problem?

A: You’ll always be in good hands at TRC. There’s 24/7 on-call service and maintenance plus on-site staff that is professional, experienced and well trained in student housing operations.

Q: What types of floor plans are available?

A: TRC has a number of apartment style floor plan options, including studios, 1, 2, 3 and 4-bedroom units.

Q: Are bedrooms private or shared?

A: All bedrooms at TRC are private.

Q: Are bathrooms private or shared?

A: All bathrooms at TRC are private – and also very large, with a tub or shower, toilet, vanity sink and plenty of storage space.

Q: Are the apartments furnished?

A: Yes – all apartments are furnished, including the living room, kitchen and bedrooms with premium quality and stylish furniture.

Q: What furniture is provided in the bedroom?

A: The bedroom includes extra large beds, a large desk with storage shelves, and a 4-drawer dresser. There is also are large built-in closet.

Q: What kitchen appliances are included?

A: TRC provides spacious designer kitchens with full-size stainless appliances, including refrigerator, range, microwave, dishwasher and disposal.

Q: What about laundry?

A: Each TRC apartment has its own full-size washer and dryer – which is totally free.

Q: Are utilities included?

A: Yes – the rent includes heat, A/C, basic cable, and the fastest internet in the market – plus there’s wi-fi throughout.

Q: How is the heat, air conditioning and hot water controlled?

A: Each apartment has individual climate control by the resident with a dedicated, high efficiency, very quiet system - and plenty of hot water from the high-efficiency, high-demand HW heater.

Q: Are the windows operable?

A: Yes – all living areas, including each bedroom and living room, have large windows (with screens) that open for fresh air.

Q: Am I responsible for my roommate’s rent?

A: No – all leases are by-the-bed, so you‘re only responsible for your own rent.

Q: How is building security handled?

A: TRC is a gated community that provides convenience and security. A single electronic key gets you onto the property and into the building, your apartment and private bedroom and bath. There are numerous security cameras, blue lights, plus the “Visual Doorman”!

Q: What is the “Visual Doorman”?

A: TRC’s exclusive Visual Doorman is a video/intercom system that allows you to see and speak to visitors at the front door.

Q: What’s there to do at TRC?

A: Lots! There is a fabulous Multi-Media Room with a full-wall TV and fireplace, the TRC Café, a health-club quality Exercise Room, free Tanning, a totally tricked out Game Room with pool, ping pong, air hockey and incredible video gaming stations, the leading edge Computer Commons with work stations and free printing, a private Courtyard and three Study Lounges, each with a Smart Board.

Q: Is there any added cost for all this?

A: No – it’s all included.

Q: Is TRC handicap accessible?

A: Yes – TRC is handicap accessible throughout and each apartment meets ADA accessible adaptability requirements.

Q: Where is TRC located?

A: TRC is in downtown Binghamton, right next door to BU’s Downtown Center, and a short walk to the nightlife, restaurants and retail district. Plus, you’re right on two amazing rivers, with direct access to the River Walk trail for running and biking.

Q: How do I get to campus?

A: The BU Bus has multiple routes traveling regularly from the BU Downtown Center next door to the main Campus. Plus, several BCC Transit routes go to the Mall, shopping centers, etc.

Q: What about parking?

A: TRC has on-site parking for a small monthly fee.

Q: Can I use my financial aid?

A: Yes – typically, student loans and grants are distributed through the University and they take their share. The balance is usually sent to the student, which can be used to pay rent.

Q: What if I don’t have a roommate?

A: TRC provides excellent roommate matching.

Q: Are graduate students allowed?

A: Yes. TRC is a student-only community for enrolled undergraduate and graduate students..
