Best Podcasts to Catch Up on While Staying at Home

We’ve recommended what to stream and what Ted Talks to tune in to, but what media do you consume while driving to work if you’re an essential worker or while you’re finally going through all the clothes you brought back home? Podcasts! They’re perfect for a commute, your daily walk, or just while doing chores. I got into podcasts earlier last year when I started to commute to work and school and they’ve become a staple in my day, even when I’m not leaving the house.  They’re a great addition especially if you’re quarantined alone and want to feel like you’re listening in on a conversation between friends. Here are a few that helped me get into the podcast world and some of my favorite from the last year!
The Daily Zeitgeist

This is a daily news podcast that actually posts twice (!!) every weekday. They range in topics to current political events, interesting stories of the day, and reality TV. It’s a great podcast to get into if you’re trying to maintain a routine while stuck inside!
Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend

Conan O’Brien and an endless stream of his hilarious friends paired with his assistant Sona discuss how they met, what’s new in their lives, and some of their most interesting projects. This is pretty unlike any interview show I’ve watched and never fails to make me laugh out loud.
Part-Time Genius

Hosts Will and Mango take on a variety of topics each week ranging from odd inventions to things you didn’t know about Theodore Roosevelt. It’s a creative, informative, and comedic way to relay a large amount of information.
The Bechdel Cast

Interested in an in-depth analysis on the treatment of women in your favorite films? Everything from Moana to Inception is tackled in this weekly podcast hosted by comedians Jamie Loftus and Caitlin Durante.
